french recollection

lately i have been thinking a lot about the French, in particular French actors. Rarely do you see them wearing tons of heavy make-up, even when they are dressed for red-carpet events. French women in particular focus more on their skin-care routine than they do on the cover-up. its beautiful and refreshing to see barely there make-up on celebrities which is a rare thing to see here in the States. You don't see French women with fake orange tans, getting plastic surgery, wearing tons of heavy eyeliner and clothed in the latest new trends no matter how annoying and unflattering they look. do French celebrities even have stylists like American celebrities do? either way i think we should be getting some cues from the French because for some reason they seem to do everything right!

this is a shot from our father's day shenanigans at home. my husband got his classic honda motorcycle running and took it for a spin around the yard, at least until the brakes seized and it slid out from under him. he was ok but not before i screamed and my son started laughing! i took this photo while he was riding around and i think it captures the moment perfectly!!!

beauty obsessions

just some of my most recent beauty obsessions than i cannot live without! thought i'd share because i think all of these are amazing at what they do and completely affordable for anyone! (from the left):

1. yestocarrots body butter cream (i use it as an eye cream because it's super moisturizing)
2. formula 10.0.6 DEEP DOWN DETOX (this is a mud mask and shrinks pores like whoa)
3. Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream (all the hype i just had to try, goes on smooth and i use it when my skin is clear, or when i'm just too lazy)
4. CeraVe moisturizing lotion (this has hyaluronic acid which helps keep your skin moisturized all day and also helps give you a kind of glow, it's weird i know but so nice. research it!)
5. Benefit's Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow liquid foundation (need i say more?)
6. Maybelline Baby Lips (keeps my lips moist with a neutral peachy tint, love this stuff)
7. Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash redness soothing (this stuff works great i have sensitive skin and tend to get red an blotchy sometimes and it's also helped clear most of my hormonal acne i get around my period)
