transparent tendencies

So yes i decided one day to do my own (mediocre) DIY transparent clutch and these are the tools, materials, and way i made mine. I live in the country (boonies) so we don't have many choices for craft stores (Micheals, JoAnn's and thats IT) so i just used what they had on hand. Ever since i saw apairandaspare's DIY i was obsessed and just had to do my own. She put much more thought and planning into hers but mine is well...more me.

I used a magazine for the shape and size base for my clutch so i also used it for the liner.

DIY-excitement!!!!!

i have been so excited about this DIY for a while now, since my husband bought this amazing vintage huffy bicycle for me!!! it is already in great condition and works just fine but the color just wasn't me. i've been swooning over the mint and light baby blue bikes i've been seeing lately so i chose sea breeze blue for my bike. i've spray painted bikes i've had in the past but for this one i didn't want to make my husband take it all apart just to paint it so i just taped off the important parts that can't get painted like the gears, chain, brakes and swivel movement of the handle bars. first i cleaned it with an all purpose degreaser and cleaner, waited for it to dry, then i just painted away!!! it's going to take two coats so when its all done i will post the finished pictures. i just couldn't wait and had to share this with you ASAP! this is a perfect summer DIY and i can't wait to go on a family bike ride!!! happy friday ya'll!!!!!

this lovely vintage floral dress was a gift from my sewing sensei (if you will), she gave it to me and told me to hem it up as high as i wanted. i cherish this dress because it was one she used to wear a lot! i feel like such a lady when i wear it too!!!

my outfit today, this purple skirt i made from a dress, i didn't like the top of the dress so i just made it into a skirt! it's hot today just the way i like it and the wind is blowing making it oh so pleasant outside! hope everyone has a good memorial day weekend! i know i will basking in the sunlight i waited for so long to get here!

sorry about the bitch face but it's very sunny and cold out! still trying out instagram as you can see in the first two pics but i think i'm starting to get the hang of it! i love how the vest came out, i was thinking about adding some studs but i'm kinda liking the minimal look of it right now! the skirt i'm wearing is also DIY! the tshirt is a hanes mens vneck, and the shoes are the blue target flats i've worn before! hope ya'll like how the vest turned out! i'll be bleaching some more stuff!!! bleach crazy!

just a quick outfit post so you guys don't think i'm MIA! its easter weekend so i've been busy cooking, coloring eggs, etc. i am a mom ya know! i decided to take advantage of the sunset (even though its freezing outside) and snap this pick! the sweater i diy'd with an old target merona sweater and a sequin panel from a tank top that was too see-through to wear in public, the belt is from pacsun, jeans thrifted and sooooo comfy, and the shoes are also target shoes i diy'd with bleach! hope ya'll enjoy your weekend and if you celebrate easter happy easter!!!!!

 p.s. i bleach dip dyed a denim vest i made from an old navy denim jacket i also thrifted, i lost the light while i was changing into the next outfit so i will post pics of it tomorrow...hopefully!

bleach, q-tips, cotton balls (optional), gloves (because bleach does horrible shit to your hands) i took my ordinary all black tennys from target and spruced them up a bit! whenever i think of diy projects i usually want to start right away and don't think to set it up and take good picture with my good camera ...no... instead i take shitty pics with my cell phone. promise i will post pics of me wearing them with the good camera.

so obsessed with this sweater zooey wore on the newest episode of New Girl! It had heart shaped buttons on the shoulder! i am going to find a cute striped sweater and sew heart shaped buttons on the shoulder! i believe the sweater she wore was shoshanna and is like $300 but couldn't find it online so i could post a link for it.
